Green Policy

At River Park Place we are committed to a green approach throughout our company where we strive to minimise our impact on the environment via reduced consumption and waste, recycling and the selection of environmentally friendly options wherever feasible.

We have implemented initiatives and procedures that will achieve improvements which have a positive impact on the environment at a local and global level.

Waste

We strive to minimise the waste we produce by recycling and reusing. River Park Place has reduced its printing by better use of electronic communication, marketing and record keeping systems.

We have implemented a policy of double sided printing of documents and we currently recycle on a daily basis all office paper, printer cartridges cardboard, glass and plastic and kitchen oil is collected and recycled by a local organisation.

Water

Using water in an efficient manner is another key part of our environmental program.

• We have installed water flow restrictors in all washroom, bar and kitchen areas.
• All toilets are dual flush
• Staff are encouraged to reduce their water consumption
• We use Mt Warning water bottled for all corporate functions.
• We are certified 100% carbon neutral.
• We carry out regular maintenance checks to minimise any water wastage through faulty appliances.

Energy Consumption

Energy consumption and CO2 emissions, is a large environmental issue and listed below are some energy efficiency programmes we have in place to reduce our global impact.

• Air-conditioners are only in use when the rooms are occupied by clients or staff
• Electrical fittings and consumables are purchased with regard to efficiency e.g. light globes
• Lights and other electrical equipment are switched off when not required.
• Refrigeration and freezers are one of our biggest energy users. We keep our equipment in good working order by ensuring seals are clean and in good condition to increase efficiency.
• Additional refrigeration required for functions are switched off when not required.
• Our electricity company (Energy Action) sources energy from green energy suppliers

Cleaning Products

We use phosphorus-free cleaning products.
